Lotus Self Defense Theory

As you may already know, studying martial arts isn’t just a hobby, or something that you are able to participate in twice a week. Martial arts are a way of life and it is a method that you undertake in order to strengthen your mind, body, and spirit. Within this article, we are going to discuss the lotus self defense theory and exactly what it means.

First, the body is strengthened because it is the quickest and easiest to do. Within the lotus self defense theory, you have to be in shape physically and fully capable of completely defending yourself by properly executing all of the movements. Even though you may already fully understand how you can do one hundred different techniques, if you aren’t capable physically of doing all of them, all of those techniques aren’t going to do you a bit of good.

Strengthening the body can be accomplished through all of the traditional exercises such as pushups, jumping jacks, sit-ups, practicing all of the lotus exercises and stretching. The lotus exercises include the daug boa dang, tdream, katas, breakfalls, and kicks, just to name a few. The very next component that you are going to need to develop is the mind. Not only should you be physically capable of executing all of the lotus movement, but you should also possess the knowledge of the technique in order to put all of the movements together so that they work for you.

You may cultivate the mind by participating in repetitive practice until all of your techniques have become second in nature. Experience, practice, and academic study of all of the martial arts will help to develop a very strong mind, which in turn will control the body. The very last element that you are going to development is the spirit. The spirit is the longest and most difficult to develop.

You will find that there are three major components of spirit; they are will, personal character, and sense of significance. As you will soon learn, the journey that consists of a thousand miles is going to start with the very first step. The same is also true in relationship to the journey it will take to mastering martial arts. A very strong sense of determination will, and patience is going to be required.

The capacity of having to endure inconvenience and hardship of training is going to temper your spirit and you are going to have to believe in yourself and all of your training. When you don’t possess a sense of significance, you will not be able to put forth a hundred percent within your training. In the end, you have to remember that you are only going to get out of lotus what you put into it.

Your character is going to describe all of the qualities that distinguish all of the martial artist from all of the others. Any martial artist that strives to live out the martial way of life is going to be the way of life that promotes knowledge, harmony, integrity, courage, and respect. Overall, the lotus self defense theory is truly amazing when followed appropriately.
