Lotus Self Defense

Within Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand lotus self defense was developed initially by the ever-so-popular Mr. Precha Mahachanavong as a Thai martial art. In addition to possessing a black belt under Grand Master Tony Lasit in Kenpo Karate at the Kajukenbo Institute for self-defense. Robert Price, an Air Force solider within the United States was able to gain his black belt under the teachings of Ajarn Precha.

Within Thailand, since the very creation of lotus self defense, lotus self defense has managed to spread into the United States. In fact, Robert Price was the very first American to take the notion to open a lotus self-defense school within the United States. In nineteen seventy four, he opened a lotus self defense school within Adelanto, California. Nowadays, there are several lotus schools within Atlanta in Georgia, Charlotte in North Carolina, Abbeville in Louisiana, Bend and Salem in Oregon, and Spokane in Washington.

One of the interesting facts about these lotus self defense schools is that the majority of the head instructors at these schools were considered to be the direct students in the nineteen seventies under Ajarn in Thailand.
