Lotus Self Defense Black Belt

There are several individuals that have started their career within martial arts with the main purpose of desiring to learn how they can become more dangerous, or to receive the ever-so-popular black belt. Within this article, we are going to discuss the lotus self defense black belt, because there are several individuals that are inquiring to learn this information.

The History Unfolds: Color Belts

Chances are all of you have heard the very popular story of all of the martial arts students back in the day beginning with the white belt. However, through all of the years of training, blood, and sweat soaked into the belt, caused it to darken over the years. Once the belt has darkened into black, you have earned the rank of a black belt. There is a lot of research that shows that this story is most likely a popular myth instead of the truth.

All of the research reflects a lot more accurately that Jigoro Kano, who is the man that has been credited with founding Judo, the Japanese martial art, created this color belt system specifically as a way to measure all of this student’s skill whenever they were paired with all of the other Judo players. All of the color belts are a very visible recognition of accomplishment within the martial art style.

It was the black belt that was Mr. Kano’s rank, which was created in order to represent the completion of the very first step of the training process, which is all about mastering all of the basics. Once you have earned yourself a black belt, it is similar to starting all over at the white belt again. However, it is done at a level that is more advanced. That is why it is very important that you look to earning a black belt as being the ability to reach your final destination.

However, it isn’t the destination that is really all that important, it is the journey of becoming more flexible, stronger, more humble, and more knowledgeable, and all of these things are the most important part of your training. Through the journey is how you will temper all of your steel, which is your mind, body, and spirit. More than likely, the chances are that you aren’t going to be wearing all of your martial arts belts if you have ever have to use all of your marital arts skills within a real life situation.

It is going to be all of the skills that you have learned during the journey that are truly always going to be with you. However, the good news is that no matter where you are within the world, all of your martial arts skills are going to go with you.
