Kata Lotus Self Defense Training

Originally, kata lotus self defense training, was originally used in order to mimic combat scenarios. It wasn’t feasible to use katas on a certain training partner because it would seriously hurt and maim him. Later, controlled sparring was developed, in effort to advance progress and to decrease the student’s learning time, in relationship to learning all of the benefits related to practicing katas.

First, you have learn kata properly, and then the sparring will help to provide the student with a very strong knowledge and foundation of all of his very own natural weapons like elbows, kicks, punches, knees, chops, and blocks, as well as the necessary ability to move onto all of the more exercises of sparring that are more advanced. Physically practicing and academically studying katas have several benefits.

The student, through the kata practice, will be able to improve all of his self-defense techniques and sparring skills. All of this can be done by defense techniques, executing strikes, and learning about the distance. During a kata, executing strikes reinforces what the student possesses within his arsenal for all of the offensive attacks. The student will execute elbows, punches, kicks, chops, knee strikes and several other attacks.

So, will the student ever be able to use each of the strikes from a certain kata within a situation of self-defense? Most likely, no. However, all of the movements of kata are similar to golf clubs. Each and every golf club has its very own purpose. There are some golf clubs that are specifically made for driving the ball over an extended distance, there are some that are for chipping the ball, and there are some for putting.

The professional golfer, however has all of his clubs within his bag and is more than ready to use whichever one the situation is going to call for. In some ways, this is similar to the martial artist that is ready to use any of his kata movements that are necessary for a certain situation. There are some katas that actually have the student moving during executing strikes because it builds on all of the skills and benefits of maintaining a very strong balance and learning and using the distance with all of the strikes within the katas.

You should also know that Kata self defense training also teaches the individual student a lot more about defense through the actual use of movements and blocks. There are upward blocks, outward blocks, inward blocks, and much more. Defense can also be an evasive movement. Overall, when it all comes down to Kata lotus self-defense training, learning about the distance and how the distance applies to a certain fight is extremely important.
