Lotus Self Defense Classes

When attending your very first lotus self defense classes, it is always a good idea to wear clothes that are comfortable, like a T-shirt and some sweat pants. You should also avoid wearing jeans when attending lotus self defense classes. In the event that you have a uniform that originates from another style of martial arts, you should always make sure that you talk with the instructor before you wear it. The majority of the lotus self defense classes are going to be conducted while in bare feet. In the event that this is a problem, you should contact the instructor.

Make sure that you always follow the guidelines that are recommended by the recreation facilities. When you are attending the lotus self defense classes, it is always proper to address the instructor as Ajarn because this is the Thai term that means teacher. Now that you know a little about what to wear to the lotus self defense classes and you know how to address your instructor, lets take the time to talk a little about lotus self defense.

Lotus self defense classes typically are going to begin with warm-up and stretching exercises, then you will practice punches, kicks, and blocks. Next you will practice falling down onto the mat, and then you will practice hitting a target and rolls. All of the rolls conclude a very brief form of incorporating kicking, rolls, and punching. After a couple minutes of break, you will return to practice the self defense techniques that are related to Kata, and to cover any type of new material.

All of the self-defense techniques are going to be the most interesting, and they are able to be applied within real-life situations. All of the advanced lotus self techniques include flips, take-downs, and throws.
